Allow music to move your soul 24 hours a day

Music is many things to many people. Some enjoy listening to the latest and most current songs, while others prefer sticking with the classics, while still others prefer their music without words, just instruments playing thus allowing them to create their own interpretations of what they’re feeling.

Songs can bring comfort to the lonely making them feel as though their “special friend” is with them and taking some of their desperation's for social gatherings away. It can also unite and intensify a crowd gathered at a sporting event, creating a feeling of unity amongst people who would have otherwise kept being strangers unto one another.

To some, music is a simple universal language that breaks all communication barriers, for we all may not understand the words that are being said, but the rhythms and the beats felt are as if they penetrate throughout the flesh and blood of our bodies; as if touching our very souls.

Music can be a religion to some, a place of solitude to escape from their life’s troubles and hardships. Yet someone else might want to celebrate some good news and thus gather and play some songs that will amplify the joyous feelings they have coursing throughout their bodies. Music is always readily available and waiting for us to access, anytime, day or night.

Some people call music evil and they shun listening to it claiming it can corrupt the very soul of those who listen. Others will argue that music is a DIVINE gift from the MIGHTY CREATOR, and it’s usefulness in uniting people is just one of many examples how songs can bring down barriers that otherwise have no chance of coming down between people of all races and throughout many nations. Regardless, those who enjoy music appreciate the tonal diversions it allows them to feel. What they do with these feelings and how they treat themselves and others with it is another story.

Personally speaking, I do not find music to be evil in general. However, I can see where lyrics placed along with a song can be evil, for hurtful, hating words can kill a person yet leave them standing and walking, for psychologically these lyrics can be damaging to some and provide a deadly mental trigger which reminds them of past or current abuses. Again, music is like money, you can help people with it, or you can use it to destroy people with it.

The Bible discusses the benefits of music. For example, in 1 Chronicles 16:42 GODS WORD says, “Heman and Jeduthun were responsible for the sounding of the trumpets and cymbals and for the playing of other instruments for sacred song.”

Another Biblical reference, Psalm 33:1-3 says, “Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise HIM. Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to HIM on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to HIM a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.”

It is therefore up to each individual to make a choice concerning music. Whether to sing songs of praise and worship or to simply communicate sharing orchestrated feelings to others concerning their own personal trials and tribulations, or of joyous events that we want to freely allow others a chance to hear and enjoy with us.

Music can either distract or it can focus an individual, and everyone deserves the chance and freedom to decide for themselves how they will allow music to affect their lives. Remember, if you drink too much water in too little of time you will die; but if you respect the replenishing power of water, your thirst will be quenched and your body rejuvenated, thus feeding the cells of your very body for without it the human body cannot survive.
